Pores contain what’s known as sebaceous glands, which secrete an oily substance called sebum. When they produce excess oil, dirt, debris, and dead skin cells are more likely to get trapped in them, which can cause them to get bigger.
Various other factors can also cause the formation of large pores, and make them look more pronounced, such as large hair follicles, lower collagen production, loss of skin elasticity, and sun damage, along with genetics and heredity.
