Understanding The Many Benefits And Uses Of PRP
Using platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is one of the best and safest anti-aging treatments available. And it’s just not great as a beautifying procedure, since it has many other efficacious applications.
I regularly use PRP to help my clients look and feel better. Keep reading to discover why PRP treatments are so powerful, and 4 ways I like to use them in my clinic.
Understanding PRP
PRP plays a critical role in my beauty aesthetics clinic in downtown Vancouver. That’s because this procedure helps us to harness your body’s natural healing power, to help you both look and feel better.
During a PRP procedure, we take platelet-rich plasma from your own blood. Note that platelets are a blood cell that are important for healing, because they can trigger cell reproduction and stimulate tissue regeneration. It’s pretty powerful stuff, and this treatment lets us harness it’s healing qualities in a targeted way.
After collecting your PRP, we then spin it in a powerful centrifuge to concentrate and isolate platelets. These platelets are then injected into the desired area using micro-needling techniques.
I know that can sound pretty high-tech (and it is), but trust me: it’s not scary at all! We just draw a small amount of blood (and I’m a trained anesthesiologist and Master Injector). Then you can sit back and relax!
Using PRP
PRP is rising in popularity for a wide range of beauty treatments and to treat pain and injuries.
Specifically, in my clinic, I use it to help clients tackle the following 4 issues.
PRP for Beautiful Skin
Anti-aging results from PRP treatment
First up, we can use PRP to access your body’s natural healing potential to help you look younger. PRP can effectively minimize wrinkles and pores, leaving your skin looking plumper and more refreshed.
From dark under-eye hollows to sagging facial skin, platelet-rich plasma treatments can dramatically regenerate aging and damaged cells.
Especially when they pair these treatments with good skin care and maintenance, my patients can expect to see dramatic and beautiful anti-aging results.
PRP can also be used to minimize eye troughs.
PRP for Scars
It’s so exciting to see how PRP can help people with scars, especially since scarring can really impact a person’s self esteem.
PRP can dramatically reduce redness and scarring
Like we’ve covered, PRP uses and amplifies the healing power of our own blood, making it a great new treatment for scarring. It can minimize or even eliminate scarring by stimulating connective tissue cells and creating new collagen.
PRP for Hair Loss
Use PRP to stimulate hair growth
Here’s another exciting new application for PRP: we can use it to help regenerate healthy new hair.
There are many different reasons why people experience hair loss: pregnancy, aging and stress are some of the most common ones. Thankfully, PRP can put an end to hiding your hair problems with hats or thinking that you have to live with thinning hair.
We take great pride in our hair restoration services. In fact, we can confidently say that our results are superior, and that we are the best hair restoration specialists, period.

PRP To Treat Knee Pain And Plantar Fasciitis
Finally, I’m passionate about providing non-surgical treatments at my clinic in downtown Vancouver, BC, that can relieve pain and heal tissue with minimal recovery and downtime.
It’s why I use Botox to treat migraines and chronic headaches. And it’s why I regularly use PRP to treat many chronic conditions, including osteoarthritis of the knee and plantar fasciitis.
If you suffer from chronic pain, you might think you have two options: surgery or suffering. But there is a world of other effective treatments that can help reduce pain and drastically improve your quality of life.
